Text Messaging (SMS) Program

A+ Pediatrics offers an SMS text messaging program so patients and guardians can receive appointment reminders, appointment notifications, and billing/account notifications. This is a transactional, account-related program — we do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

How to opt in

Receiving text messages from A+ Pediatrics is always optional, and consent is not a condition of receiving care or any service. You can opt in in any of these ways:

  • During patient registration. When you register as a new patient online, you provide your mobile number and check the SMS consent box on the registration form.
  • On our paper intake form at the office, by providing your mobile number and checking the SMS consent box.
  • By texting the keyword APLUS to (606) 717-0177.

The consent language you agree to

At the point of opt-in (the registration form checkbox), you see and agree to the following:

“By checking this box and providing my mobile phone number, I agree to receive text messages from A+ Pediatrics related to appointment notifications, appointment reminders, and billing/account notifications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or reply HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms & Conditions.”

Example messages

  • “A+ Pediatrics: Reminder — [Patient] has an appointment on [date] at [time]. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
  • “A+ Pediatrics: You have a balance of $[amount] on your account. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”

How to opt out or get help

You can cancel the SMS service at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you send STOP, we will send one final message to confirm you have been unsubscribed; you will not receive any further messages unless you opt in again. For help, reply HELP to any message or call us at (606) 717-0177. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
